About:

I paint and draw in a realistic classical and sometimes impressionistic style.  My subject matter includes portrait, figure, still life and plein air.  I gather most of my ideas for my paintings from plein air sketches and photographs that I take when I travel.

​

I continue my art education by taking painting and drawing classes and workshops.  I have studied with the following teachers:

2023

  • Accepted in the Greater Bay Area Open 2023 juried show for "Night Life'.

  • Accepted in the 'Transitions: Fall and Winter Landscapes' juried show at Pacific Art League for 'In The Distance'.

  • Accepted in the Pacific Art League's 102nd Anniversary Exhibition for 'Day's End' and 'Shallow Pools'.

 

2022

2019

  • Accepted in the Los Gatos Art Association's Fall Members juried show for 'A Safe Place'

  • Accepted in the UArt Open regional juried show for 'Wind in Her Hair'.

  • Accepted in the GBAO regional juried show for 'Wind in Her Hair'.

  • Two of my charcoal portrait drawings were accepted into the Portrait Show at the Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company.

 

2018

  • Accepted in the Los Gatos Art Association's Fall Members Juried Show for Helping Hands.

    • Awarded the People's Choice Award and Honorable Mention for the painting Helping Hands.​

  • Selected as one of the top 100 runners up in the Southwest Art international 'Artistic Excellence Competition' for Helping Hands.

  • Accepted into the Pacific Art League 'The Human Form' Juried Show.

    • Awarded Honorable Mention for the painting, Helping Hands.

  • Won first place, Los Gatos Art Association's October peer-group competition.  Painting: Wind in Her Hair
